STEFANO FAKE & THE FAKE FACTORY “RGB LIGHTS (SUSPENSION LAMPS)” (2006-today)

Starting in the mid-2000s Stefano Fake began creating lamps to furnish THE FAKE FACTORY laboratory in Florence. Among the rules that the artist imposes on himself, a sort of vow of chastity as in the Manifesto of Dogma 95 by Lars Von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg, there is above all that of using cheap materials, widely used industrial products, often also recycled and reuse, but assembling them in such a way as to create new, unexpected and surprising aesthetic effects. The RGB suspension lamps belong to this stage of THE FAKE FACTORY’s research. After being used in the studio for several years, the RGB LIGHTS SUSPENSION LAMPS have been taken to immersive museums and galleries, immediately attracting interest from visitors.

A partire della metà degli anni 2000 Stefano Fake inizia a creare lampade per arredare il laboratorio di THE FAKE FACTORY a Firenze. Fra le regole che l’artista si impone, una sorta di voto di castità come nel Manifesto del Dogma 95 di Lars Von Trier e Thomas Vinterberg, c’è soprattutto quella di utilizzare materiali economici, prodotti industriali di grande diffusione, spesso anche di recupero e riuso, ma assemblandoli in modo tale da creare nuovi, inaspettati e sorprendenti effetti estetici. Le lampade a sospensione RGB appartengono proprio a questa fase della ricerca di THE FAKE FACTORY. Dopo essere state utilizzate in studio per diversi anni, le RGB LIGHTS SUSPENSION LAMPS sono state portate in musei immersivi e gallerie, riscuotendo immediatamente interesse da parte dei visitatori.
